JAL Sakura Lounge Fukuoka Airport: Window Counter Seats Overlooking the Apron

On the evening of August 24, 2026, I visited the JAL Sakura Lounge in the Fukuoka Airport domestic terminal as a JAL Global Club (JGC) member.

From the window counter seats you can see the aircraft on the apron right in front of you. I spent the time before departure with a beer and rice crackers.

How to get in

The lounge is open to JMB Sapphire and above, JGC members, JAL domestic First Class passengers and others. One companion enters free; a second companion and beyond need a lounge coupon (children under 3 do not count). This time I entered as a JGC member.

After security, take the escalator up and check in at the reception desk. The entrance is split into the “First Class Entrance,” for Diamond Premier members, and the “JAL Global Club Entrance,” used by JGC members and others.

Window counter seats

The apron seen from a window counter seat, with beer and rice crackers

I sat at a window counter seat. The apron spreads out beyond the window, and you can see the parked aircraft up close. The blind was down, but I could still make out the aircraft through it.

There was a power outlet on the wall of the counter, handy for charging a laptop or phone.

Drinks and snacks

I had a beer and rice crackers. The crackers were a mix of several kinds.

According to blogs and other sources, the Fukuoka Sakura Lounge offers the following drinks:

  • Draft beer (Kirin Ichiban Shibori, Asahi Super Dry)
  • Shochu and whisky
  • Coffee, Japanese tea, black tea and soft drinks

No meals are served; the snacks are the main offering.

What we liked

  • Window counter seats with the apron right in front of you.
  • Power at the counter, so you can work or charge while you wait.
  • A chance to relax with beer and snacks before departure.

What could be better

  • No shower.
  • No meal service; mostly snacks.

If you want a proper meal, it is best to eat at a restaurant before or after the security checkpoint.

Summary

The Fukuoka Sakura Lounge has no shower or meals, but you can wait for your flight with beer and snacks while watching the planes from the window counter.

If you are a JGC member or fly First Class, stop by before your departure from Fukuoka.
